When I read anything the Apostle John has written in the New Testament, I get chills. I feel so close to our Lord that it makes me feel unworthy. So, when the inspiration hit me in prayer to pen a devotion of 1 John, I thought I was going crazy. But lo and behold, the Lord has moved me to do a survey through 1 John.

I am not going to give you a line by line journey through each chapter. At times I will highlight verses. Other times I will highlight thought units. My point with this devotion is not to show how great of a student I am, but to point to the Christ. The one, who lived among the twelve, ate, slept, and breathed the same oxygen we do. My purpose is to show how the One True Living God’s message of repentance and faith in Him has not changed.

He did come in a physical body and rose from the dead. That is why we should obey all that He commanded, out of loving obedience. I pray that you will see that the types of heresy we see today are nothing new. They all desire the same goal of undermining the cross. My prayer is that after going through 1 John, you will never doubt Him again! In Him, Amen!
